Upon first meeting me, few realize their impending good fortune. Oddly, they see me as a mere mortal.
Frankly, I don’t understand how other painters can even stay in business in this town.
I’m the painter dude, and I paint houses. I started painting in 1978, the year they outlawed lead-based paint. It was purely a coincidence, I assure you.
Since then, I’ve learned all kinds of tricks and tips and helpful information about how to best put the damn paint on the wall. Some of it is common sense. Some of it is top secret ninja-type stuff. Which I can’t talk about. Maybe when I’m on my death bed…
But in the meantime, let me just say that I am a rare bird in the house painting world. Because I’m way more than just a house painter. For example, I’ve spent over 14,000 hours in an altered state of meditation. In fact, I’d probably be meditating right now, if I didn’t have to tell you a little bit about me!
But there you go. That’s just me. Always thinking of the other guy…
Here’s what I believe:
Nothing is more important than how you feel. And your emotional state is something that is totally up to you. You are in charge of what you feel at any given moment. Or, you can be. Or, you can at least practice it! I do.
(Remember those 14k hours?)
You can put yourself into an empowered state at will, if you practice. If you choose.
Then, you too can be a house painter!
(Yeah, I thought it was funny, too.)
Let’s see… what else?
I love to learn. I love to read new information. I love to see the changes happening in the world right now, even though we’re going through a bit of chaos at the moment.
But that will pass. It has to. These are the ‘transition years’ – between the old world, which is getting crazier and crazier, and the new world, which will be a beautiful, wonderful, new experience for us all.
Obviously, there’s going to have to be a lot of attrition… a lot of ‘human turnover’ before we can enter a new world.
I’m already feeling it, at least a little bit. (Remember those 14k hours?)
When you put yourself into an empowered state, when you open up and allow in the invisible forces and energies that are already moving through you, when you allow yourself to receive help from the ‘higher parts’ of your consciousness… then you too can start to feel this new world.
It’s real, people. It’s real!
And that’s really the focus of my life. Painting… well… it’s what I do. Meditation is what I am.
You know the saying – ‘it’s all illusion’?
I believe it’s true.
But what type of illusion is it? That’s the question.
The way I see it, the world around me is a reflection of my ‘raw materials’. The six raw materials I use to create my reality.
Those are the six raw materials that make up everything we see around us.
What I see around me is a product of those six materials. Everything is made up of those six, and nothing more.
When you adopt that perspective, there is no failure. Only feedback. So-called ‘reality’ is really a feedback mechanism.
My world is showing me what I believe. What I think and feel. What choices I’m making. And so forth.
Life becomes an endless source of curious fascination. From the people who call me up to paint their house, and the things they say, all the way up to the nightly news I ‘just happen’ to tune into that evening.
And that’s a little bit about me, the house painter!
PS – and given what you now know, was it really a coincidence I started painting the year they outlawed lead in the house paint? Hmm…….
